Last weekend, I spent a simply amazing weekend photographing NYC Family Portraits for some pretty amazing families!!
On Saturday morning, I got on a train from Baltimore and made the 3 hour easy ride so I could have the honor of doing a few NYC Family Portraits! When I say I love my job, what I really mean is… I ABSOLUTELY FLIPPIN ADORE MY JOB. IT IS THE BEST!!!!!! Does that clear it up??? LOL
So you’re a photographer, you say??? What’s so great about that? Well… here’s how I see it. When someone asks me to photograph their family, their child or their life… this is what they are saying. “This moment, this day, this stage of our life; it is very important to us. We need you to document it for us so we will always remember, and so our children will be able to look back and ‘see’ our family and what their childhood looked like!”
So yeah… that’s what I do. I document people’s lives. I recored their history. I give them something tangible to help them remember what their life is all about! What an incredible honor!
This first family I met while we both were living in St. Louis, Missouri. That cutie on the right striking a pose, I met her when she was just a few days old and we had an incredible newborn session for her, documenting their first days of being a family of four! Since then, they’ve moved to NYC, and mom and I have kept in touch. They knew they weren’t going to be living in the city forever, so mom wanted to document this season in their life with a NYC family portrait session. Fantastic idea!!
So here are two little sneak peeks of the NYC Family Portraits on the Highline. What an incredible place to capture the feel of living in NYC!!!
